Library

The Museum Dr. Guislain is dedicated to the history of psychiatry and outsider art. Through exhibitions and books it wants to focus on important psychiatric problems and place them in their broader social and cultural context. In doing so, the Museum always searches for the dialogue between science and art. The library contains works about the history of psychiatry, outsider art, psychology, medicine… In addition, the Museum has also some important sub-collections, such as part of the (antiquarian) library of Professor Jacques Schotte, Jan Hendrik van den Berg, Willem van Genk, Detlef Petry, Steven De Batselier, enz.
