As a museum about psychiatry the Dr. Guislain Museum is a place where history meets the news. The human mind has always been a source of fascination. Yet knowledge still goes hand in hand with mystery. Many questions remain unanswered, theories disappear and sometimes come back. The Dr. Guislain Museum is a lieu de mémoire and a laboratory, a museum ‘in psychiatry’ where experimentation, questioning and testing take place first and foremost, and where the stratification of the human psyche is revealed through testimonies, archives, art and photography.

The Museum Dr. Guislain is a private museum and an independent non-profit organization. The museum is subsidised by the government, but must obtain 45 per cent of its operating funds from its own income and support from companies and individuals. Want to help build the museum's future?
