Book Presentation Jaren van de Olifant (‘Years of the Elephant’)

Book Presentation Jaren van de Olifant (‘Years of the Elephant’)

How do you handle the suicide of your own son? Willy Linthout coped with his grief in ‘Jaren van de Olifant’ (2009). This award winning graphic novel gets its final edition, with 40 pages augmented, in ‘Jaren van de Olifant’. ‘Jaren van de Olifant’ has been translated worldwide and got the Bronzen Adhemar, the Prize of the Flemish Community for the Comic. Willy Linthout tells us an authentic story in an inimitable way. He handles tragic as if it were at the same time a willingness to laugh, a combination which is rarely seen in such a subtle balance. Willy Linthout comes to Museum Dr. Guislain on Wednesday 30 November. He will talk about his book and has a conversation with grief counselor and author Lore Vonck. VRT journalist Marjan Temmerman is a listening ear and she asks the right question at the right time. Standaard Uitgeverij, Davidsfonds and the Centrum ter Preventie van Zelfdoding would like to invite you to this panel discussion. The entrance is free, but we’ll appreciate pre-registration via :
