Long live father!
Sunday the father of the house celebrates his high day.
What will it be this time? A watch, a bottle of beer or maybe a bouquet of flowers?
Through the decades a lot of fathers found help in the psychiatric hospital P.C. Guislain or ‘Hospice Guislain’.
In the 1970s the hospital gives a ‘brochure’ with the different phases the male patient goes through when admitted. It is about daily scenes of the 1970s – at work, at the café or at home – until the final admission with conversations, sport, recreation & medical examination.
Below you find the ‘step-by-step plan’ to help a man in his search for help. It is an attempt to make psychiatric help more accessible and to break taboos – entirely in a seventies design.
Museum Dr. Guislain wishes all fathers a happy Father’s Day!
