EOA digital seminar
Focus on the complex, nuanced role of preserving mental health heritage collections

Thursday 24 April 2025
>>> 1 - 3pm (BST)
>>> 2 - 4pm (CEST)

Artworks made in healthcare settings, more specifically psychiatric hospitals, have seen a rise in donations to heritage collections in recent years. The task of cataloguing, conserving and honouring these pieces is a large undertaking with many intersecting skills.

Many questions surround the receipt of donated work, some practical, some ethical with even the inclusion of an artist's name being a matter of debate.

The webinar will focus on 3 main areas of discussion and in the form of breakout rooms, experts will guide conversation and offer insight on:

●      Selection criteria for inclusion in mental health heritage collections

●       Ownership, consent and copyright as a collection holder

●       Documenting and Cataloguing Collections

We hope you will join us for what is sure to be an informative and evolving discussion; to register for the event please click the button below.
